Monarch

As a designer on retainer since early 2024, I partner closely with Monarch’s product marketing team to support feature launches and product updates across email, social, blog, dot-com, and paid channels. Working hand-in-hand with the Head of Product Marketing, I help translate new features into clear, approachable visuals and light animations — making it easy for users to understand what’s new and why it matters for their financial life.

While product launches are my primary focus, my role flexes with the team’s needs and also includes social graphics, landing pages, paid ads, App Store assets, and other day-to-day design support.

feature launches & announcements

Designed and animated launch assets for Monarch’s new Magic Import feature, used across email, blog, and social. This long-requested update allows users to simply scan a receipt into the app, with Monarch automatically identifying items and accurately categorizing spending. For purchases like a Costco run — where items span groceries, health, clothing, and more — Magic Import does the heavy lifting, making budgets and reports far more accurate with minimal effort from the user.

Designed and animated launch assets for Monarch’s new Command K feature, shared across email, blog, and social channels. While not flashy, this highly requested update improves the desktop app experience by making navigation faster and more intuitive. With a simple keyboard shortcut, users can quickly search the app, jump to saved reports, and access common actions — like toggling dark mode — all from one streamlined search bar.

Command K

Designed and animated launch assets for Monarch’s new Chrome extension, used across email, blog, and social channels. This long-awaited feature helps users automatically categorize spending at retailers like Amazon, Target, and Costco — where purchases often span multiple categories. Instead of every transaction defaulting to the dreadful “🛍️ Shopping,” the extension makes categorization more accurate and effortless, improving budgets and reporting with minimal manual work.

Chrome Extension

Designed and animated announcement assets for Monarch’s transition from monarchmoney.com to monarch.com, shared across social, email, and other marketing channels. The goal was to clearly communicate the change, reassure users that nothing about their accounts or data was impacted, and reinforce Monarch’s evolving brand as it continues to grow and mature.

Monarch.com Domain Migration

Designed and animated launch assets for Monarch’s new Saved Reports feature, used across email, blog, and social channels. This update allows users to create custom reports — like monthly coffee spending or vacation costs — and save them for easy access over time. The visuals focused on showcasing real-life, relatable ways users might incorporate the feature into their everyday financial tracking.
